Research part 1

The research for this project has been really extensively since the general idea  I have for my project hasn't really been adapted to a movie, from all the research I've done, but I have found some movies that can help me with the process of creating my opening scene, these movies are movies that even though they don't have the same story as the one I am going to have, The seem to have similar components to the one's I plan on having.

GOAL! THE DREAM BEGINS

Goal! The Dream Begins is about a Mexican cook that lives in Los Angeles that wants to become a professional soccer player, but has many obstacles that prevent him from having his dream come true. Until one day when he's playing in a match, a scout from Newcastle United spots him and decides to take him to play in the Premier League in England.

In the movie, the struggle that the main character has is similar to what I want my main character to have, which is why this movie is a good reference point to what I want my opening scene to be like.

Characters

This scene will definitely be unique in the sense of characters. My idea for the characters was to have the main character that would be introduced in the opening scene, and that the other supporting characters would make cameos but instead of appearing in the scene itself, they would appear in the form of a text message conversation or a phone call

For supporting characters I had the idea of having maybe 3 supporting characters appear during the scene, 2 of them in the form of a text message conversation or a phone call, and maybe the third character appear in person at the end of the scene, but all of those details and ideas I'm still trying to figure out how it will look and if it will even be in the scene or not, so for now this is just a general idea I have.

As for who is going to portray these characters I have some friends outside of school in mind who could portray these characters, but that's still in the planning process of things as of now.

Genre

 Looking for a genre for this project was really challenging, I didn't know in which genre my idea of the opening scene fell under, but after some research I found that it was Drama. The story of the athlete struggling and trying to find a solution fell perfectly under the genre of Drama. With the Genre in mind now my job of developing the story and scene itself is less difficult since now I have more of an idea as to what I have to do. 

With the genre in mind it will definitely be easier to further complete the project and be able to have a good finished product that will be satisfying to the viewer.

General Idea

 For this project my creative skills where really put to the test, because I have the task of making a good opening scene, with good elements of story telling, good use of camera angles, and many more things, and after many hours or maybe days of brainstorming I finally came up with a general idea of what my opening scene would be and the story it would follow.

In my mind I had the idea of making an opening scene about a high school athlete and the pressure that athletes face during their high school years. It would open up in a park with the athlete practicing and what happens afterwards is still under the planning process, but now I have at least a general idea of what I am going to do.

Portfolio Project

After finishing up the music marketing project, now we have been assigned the final project, the big one, The portfolio project. The portfolio project is a project that seems really challenging, and it looks like something that will be more demanding and that will demand more from me in order to achieve, I don't have yet a concrete plan or idea as to how I'm going to play out the project or how it's going to go, but I know what it will take for it to come out great. I have some ideas as to what I want to present but I'm still looking for the tools to achieve this.

Music Marketing Reflection

The Music Marketing project was definitely a project that was fun to make and also made me realize the many things that a marketing campaign must have in order to have a successful outcome, the process of brainstorming was very straightforward with each and everybody having ideas that everyone agreed on, and the process of making the music video itself was very fun and every member contributed with something to help make the video come out really good. The presentation process was also very smooth with everyone knowing what to say and also helping each other when getting caught in our words.
